What is KataBox?
KataBox is a group fitness workout that combines Aerobics, high-energy dance music, Step, and movements from Martial Arts like kicking and punching.
It’s an awesome way to get fitter, stronger and release frustration. Knee lifts, side kicks and boxing-style air punches get your blood flowing and the high-energy aerobics movements raise endorphins through the roof.
Whilst the class is designed to be challenging, it’s also designed to meet you where you’re at. It’s designed to allow you to move at the level of intensity that best suits your current fitness levels, yet encourages you to keep moving the bar out of your comfort zone.
How does KataBox work?
KataBox is an instructor-led, group fitness class so all you need to do is show up. The instructor leads you through each of the movements, demonstrating each of the movements as you move ahead as a group through the whole system of exercises.
You’re alternating between steps, kicks, punches, and aerobics-style movements throughout the workout and the instructor helps you to focus on the correct form and level of intensity.
The group training class includes interval training so you’re pacing yourself in short bursts of movement, and the variety of movements is designed to push you through the whole range of fat-burning, body conditioning exercises in a sustainable and fun format.
It’s a dynamic experience but the workout itself is designed and structured in a way that allows you to move you at your own pace, according to your current fitness and strength level. If you need a moment to take a breather, that’s fine.
If you’re there to set your heart-rate monitor alight, that’s fine too. You can push as easy or hard as you need to without losing sync with the rest of the class.

You’re going to be moving at your own pace throughout the class but you’re also going to be stepping that pace up out of your comfort zone because that’s the dynamic of group fitness classes.
The music, the people, and being part of a great community all combines to give you that extra boost which drives you through the 45 minute class.
This class offers a great combination of movements which are fun, engaging and energising. It’s a great launchpad for more intense classes like MELT 60 and Punch4Life down the line.
